A wedding invitation letter announces the marriage of an engaged couple. Traditionally it comes from the parents of either the bride or groom and gives the invitees the information that they need, such as the date, time and place where the ceremony will be held. It also provides invitees with a way to contact the hosts to let them know that they will attend.
If the letter is being sent as a hard copy, then it should be in the proper business format, otherwise, if the letter is being emailed, it should have an appropriate subject line and proper grammar.
It is our pleasure to request your presence at the wedding of our son. The ceremony will take place on August 15, 2015 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at exactly 11:00 in the morning. After the ceremony, we will have the reception at the Plaza Hotel.
We expect to be honored with your presence so that you can personally give your love and your blessings to the devoted couple. Your entire family is welcome. We ask that you let us know that you will be attending this joyous event by July 1, 2015. You may call me or email me regarding this letter.
We hope that you will be able to join us on our son's special day.
